MULTI is a brand new series from Höganäs Keramik – full of fun, filled with surprises and fabulously versatile. It’s multifunctional, so it can be whatever you want it to be. And it changes to match your mood.

Höganäs Keramik welcomes spring 2008 with something totally new. We asked designer Helene Tiedemann to create a brand new series based on the way we meet and eat in today’s busy world. Each item has been designed with the various ways we enjoy food today in mind: vegetarian one day, traditional the next, Asian the day after and a sumptuous weekend buffet.
“People don’t sit down for 3-course dinners every day the way they used to do,” designer Helen Tiedemann explains. “Sometimes our tables are filled with finger food and nibbles. Sometimes we settle for soup and bread. And sometimes we bring home a take-away. There’s more variation in what we eat and how. And we mix and use our dinnerware in the same way.”

MULTI CREATIVE
The 3-dimensional circle has a central role in the MULTI series. You’ll find it in everything from the gently billowing brim of the plate to the inverted cupola that forms an unexpected base for the finger-food bowl. MULTI is a playful combination of colourful convex and concave forms that let the food itself take pride of place. MULTI is a new series that is multifunctional, multicultural and multi-inspirational, with a straightforward, modern design whose eye-catching appeal derives from the doughnut-like roundness of its form.

MULTI FUNCTIONAL
MULTI is as individual as the person who owns it – and eminently flexible. The series comprises nine items, each of which can be used in different ways at different times of the day all year round. You can use MULTI for every meal of the day every day of the week. The series has been built up around the dinner plate, the foundation of all dining. The side plate in a matching design is ideal for both starters and bread at breakfast time, and the mug can be used for cold or hot drinks. The handsome jug has an attractive handle – and plenty of attitude! – and works just as well for milk for your coffee as it does when filled with whipped cream for desserts or all those irresistible dips for snacks and buffets. The two bowls on a stylish foot are sure to be firm favourites and serve as reminders of a proud tradition that lives on at Höganäs Keramik – practical design and products with all sorts of uses. The series also includes an attractiveserving dish that can also be used as oven-to-tableware,and two practical bowls.

The contemporary palette of bright colours and the high-gloss glazes arecheerful to look at and enhance the colours of the food that is served onthem. Who could fail to be inspired by the four basic shades of PicnicGreen, Vacation Blue, Really White and Almost Black, comple- mented by the bright accent of Yippee Yellow? The focus isfirmly on freedom of choice. Change colour to match the moodof the moment. All white for a gentle start to the day. Graphic black and white. Or a kaleidoscope of intensive colours.
