100 years young this year! New Flora and Bjuda

This year we’re celebrating our centenary with some sensational new additions to the spring 2009 range. Höganäs Keramik has always prided itself on its carefully composed range – simple, unpretentious designs that lend themselves to creative use in all sorts of different settings. This spring’s new products are no exception. FLORA is a beautiful mug with an even more beautiful handle. BJUDA is an open invitation to relax in the company of family and friends for everyday dining and special occasions alike. Parallel with these new additions to the range we are also introducing two handsome new glazes, PLUM and FROST. As their names suggest, these have distinctly different characters and intensities: one warm, the other cool – exquisite together or elegant on their own.

GENEROUS DESIGNS FOR FESTIVE OCCASIONS
The new BJUDA series owes much to tradition in terms of its shape and glazes. Each individual item combines sophistication and style with its own distinctive design. Höganäs Keramik and Ann-Carin Wiktorsson have created an elegant and harmonious series ideally suited to festive occasions. With its carefully balanced expression BJUDA creates a beautiful table setting in all sorts of different circumstances.

“The generous, open design and sweeping shapes embrace the food and present it attractively. I wanted BJUDA to look appealing, to feel comfortable in your hand and to invite diners to take generously as it is passed around the table,” explains Ann-Carin Wiktorsson.

BJUDA is available as four items: a beautiful rimmed plated with a prominent, raised edge that focuses attention on the food to show it at its best, a side plate of just the right depth to make it perfect for both tempting starters and delightful desserts, a generous serving bowl, and a serving plate that makes every meal look even more mouth-watering.

FRESH NEW FLORA IS FULL OF CHARACTER
FLORA is a new Höganäs Keramik mug that owes its name to the lovely natural surroundings of our home in Kullabygden, where thyme, live-forever and woodbine grow wild. The distinctive handle on Margot Barolo’s delightful design resembles a leaf and lends a special character to the mug at the same time as it provides a genuinely comfortable grip. Margot admits she has a soft spot for handles. Especially on mugs! She is convinced that it is the handle that gives a mug its own personality – traditional, romantic, contemporary or individualistic.

FLORA mug will soon be your best new friend – a cheerful companion to relax with over a cup of tea or coffee. This mug is a classic all-rounder – just as stylish as a stand-alone as it is as a sister to the rest of the Höganäs Keramik range.

FLORA comes in our new Plum and Frost glazes, as well as in Glossy White and Almost Black.
